Variegated Melanochrysum Care Guide

Variegated velvet Philodendrons require a bit of mindful care to thrive and maintain their beautiful colors. Follow these practical steps:

• Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight. This is crucial; variegated plants need more light than solid green ones to maintain their patterns, but direct sunlight will easily burn the velvet leaves. A bright spot near an east-facing window is perfect.
• Watering: Allow the top 2 inches of the potting mix to dry out before watering thoroughly. The delicate roots are prone to rot if left sitting in dense, soggy soil.
• Soil: Use a highly porous, chunky aroid mix. A blend of orchid bark, perlite, pumice, and coco coir ensures excellent drainage and allows the roots to breathe.
